Warnings and Watches posted for Baja California Sur as Hurricane Norbert Approaches
Only the Dow Jones Industrial average may fall faster than the barometer in Baja California Sur today as Hurricane Norbert approaches for a Saturday landfall.
Hurricane Norbert 2008 Hurricane NORBERT: "10/10/2008 3:01 AM MDT Hurricane Norbert continues to slowly weaken and is now a Category 1 Hurricane some 315 miles SW of Cabo San Lucas. The system has begun to pick up forward speed and turn to the north and should continue to do so over the next 24hrs. Norbert is forecast to make landfall sometime early Saturday as a Category 1 Hurricane along the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur."

WEATHER ALERT - Norbert forecast to Become a Major Hurricane South of Baja California Sur
10/07/2008 9:19 PM MDT Norbert has strengthened dramatically and is now a Category 2 Hurricane and is forecast to become a Major Hurricane (a Major Hurricane is one of Category 3 or greater) in the next 24-36hrs. Hurricane Norbert is some 500 miles south of Cabo San Lucas. Hurricane Norbert is forecast to turn to the north then NNE and is currently forecast to make landfall on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur as a strong Category 2 Hurricane.

10/07/2008 2:55 PM MDT Norbert strengthened through the day and is now a solid Category 1 Hurricane some 545 miles SSE of Cabo San Lucas. Hurricane Norbert is forecast to turn to the north then NNE and is currently forecast to make landfall on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur as a Category 2 Hurricane.

Norbert becomes Hurricane, Takes Aim at Baja California Sur
10/06/08 3PM MDT Norbert has strengthened to Category 1 Hurricane intensity and is currently located some 315 miles SSW of Manzanillo or 621 miles SSE of Cabo San Lucas. 10/06/08 3PM MDT Tropical Storm Norbert has strengthened to just shy of Hurricane intensity and is currently located some 320 miles SSW of Manzanillo or 650 miles SSE of Cabo San Lucas. TS Norbert is forecast to become a hurricane in the next 24hrs as it moved to the NW. Current projections indicate a Tropical Storm Norbert will make landfall on the Pacific coast of baja California Sur over the weekend.
