Tropical Storm Henriette Takes Aim at Baja California Sur Tropical Storm Henriette |
Information on Tropical Storm Henriette03PM MDT 09/01/07 Tropical Storm Henriette is beginning to strengthen as it pulls away from the southern Mexico coastline. TS Henriette is currently located near 18.2N 105.4W about 90 miles southwest of Manzanillo or about 435 miles southeast of Cabo San Lucas. Movement is 295° at 10kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated at 994 and winds are 55kts with gusts to 65kts. Tropical Storm force winds extend out 85 miles. Tropical Storm Henriette is forecast to become a hurricane in the next 18hrs. Tropical cyclone formation and behavior this season has been very similar to 2004. That year only one storm, Javier passed close to Baja Sur in a very similar course to what is projected for Henriette. Javier then crossed the Baja Peninsula as a Tropical Depression, dumping much rain on the area between Constitucion and Santa Rosalia. The 5 day projected course of Henriette appears to be shaping up very similarly.
