Information on Hurricane Ivo direct from Baja California SurINTERESTS IN THE SOUTHERN BAJA PENINSULA SHOULD MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF IVO. 09PM MDT 09/20/07 Hurricane Ivo sis moving toward a rendezvous with Baja California Sur early next week. Hurricane Ivo is currently some 361 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas. The current estimated position is 18.8N 113.4W and movement is 350° at 8kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated at 981Mb and winds are 70kts with gusts to 85kts. Hurricane Ivo is now forecast to remain about the same intensity through Friday, then begin got diminish before making landfall in Baja Sur late Sunday night or early Monday. Tropical storm force winds extend out as much as 75 miles and hurricane force winds only 15 miles from the eye.
