Baja California & Weather Summary & Hurricane Henriette Baja California & Weather Summary & Hurricane Henriette |
09AM MDT 09/04/07 Hurricane Henriette (red arrow) is just 50 miles away from Cabo San Lucas. Hurricane Warning exist for Baja Sur from Mag Bay to Loreto including Los Cabos. Hurricane force winds may be expected in the southern most reaches of Baja very shortly. Hurricane preparations elsewhere in Baja Sur should be rushed to completion. Henriette is expected to enter the Sea of Cortez through the Bahia de La Paz and make landfall again on the Mexican mainland. We have two tropical waves on our map (orange arrows) but there is little left in our basin following the passage of Henriette. Cat 4 Hurricane Felix (magenta arrow) can be seen on the east edge of the map. Look on the bright side folks! We need the rain, the desert will be just beautiful in about 2 weeks and the day after a hurricane is almost always a bright beautiful day. This storm is a quick mover - hopefully it will be over before you know it! Stay sane and stay safe!
