Baja California & Weather Summary & Tropical Storm Henriette

03PM MDT 09/01/07  Tropical Storm Henriette (red arrow) is strengthening as anticipated as it moves away from the mainland coast. Henriette is forecast to become a hurricane before the next forecast period at 9PM. A much clearer picture of the threat to Baja Sur will emerge with Sunday mornings forecast, but at this time Henriette is forecast to strengthen to a Cat 1 Hurricane as it passes SW of Cabo San Lucas late Monday. A Trof (magenta arrow) running the length of the Sea of Cortez to a Low (blue arrow) in AZ may affect the course of the storm over the next 24hrs. Tropical Depression Gil (yellow arrow) is moving harmlessly off into the Pacific. We have one additional Tropical Wave on our map (orange arrow) just moving into te basin.
