09AM MDT 07/24/07 Tropical Storm Dalila (red arrow) continues to strengthen slowly as it chugs to the NW. Currently located about 425 miles south of Cabo San Lucas. The storm is dragging a tail of thunderstorms along with it. TS Delila is not expected to achieve hurricane status as it move well west of Baja Sur. Spin-off from this storm will bring increasing chance of afternoon thunderstorms to Baja Sur over the next few days. A ridge of High pressure not shown (green arrow) is retreating along with the High (blue arrow) off the western edge of our map, allowing TS Dalila it's NW track. We have one additional tropical wave on our map (orange arrow) that bears watching as it interacts with thunderstorms (yellow arrow) |
