Baja California Weather Outlook

   Baja California Weather Forecast

Surface Chart / Satellite IR

09AM MDT 07/09/07 Both Baja California and Baja Sur will have some scattered clouds today from tropical moisture (green arrow) sliding east from a tropical Low (magenta arrow) that keeps threatening to evolve into a tropical depression. Being stimulated by the eastern most of two tropical waves on our map (orange arrows) the system is running out of time to develop as it moves toward cooler waters.  The Eastern Pacific basin is about to receive a parade of 4 tropical waves from the east about 48 hrs apart. This will bear watching as they move across the warmest waters south of Acapulco. But right now a ridge of High pressure (yellow arrow) divides that area and would disrupt cyclonic formation. A new High is expected to form west of So Cal and extend a ridge SE toward the Socorro Islands. This should dry the skies over Baja back out after Tuesday.
