10AM MDT 07/07/07 Another warn day throughout Baja today, while some scattered clouds may drift over many parts of the peninsula today, skies will generally be clear and dry. The Pacific High (blue arrow) continues to remain well south and east of its seasonal location off our map to the west. Down south a tropical disturbance is forming (magenta arrow) ahead of our sole tropical wave 9orange arrow) and is forecast to become a tropical Low in the next 48 hrs. this system is already to far west of Baja to influence our weather. However, in the next 72 hrs an inbound tropical wave off our map to the east, is expected to generate a tropical low south of Acapulco which will bear watching mid-week. We have now gone 38 days without the formation of a tropical cyclone in the Eastern Pacific. Strangely enough, 2006 holds the record with 42 days with the same start date of 5/31. Meanwhile, all that solar energy is continuing to build in the basin... |
